Vehicle Servicing and repairs

Servicing

We offer both interim and major services for all makes and models of vehicles and light vans – from basic fluid changes though to timing belt replacements we offer a professional service using quality parts

To maintain confidence in the reliability of your vehicle you need to have it serviced on a regular basis in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations – for most vehicles this means an annual service every year with a full service every two years, however for those vehicles doing higher mileages then services will be required more often.

Carter Autos have many years experience carrying out vehicle servicing across a wide range of vehicles so you can be sure of our expertise in performing service work.

Annual Service

A regular service for your vehicle is essential for maintaining the health of your car and is important in identifying any potential problems early – reducing the risk of more costly problems down the line. At Carter Autos, we recommend that you service your car every 10,000 – 12,000 miles or every 12 months.
With Carter Autos, an annual service involves checking and topping up of screen wash, coolant and brake fluid levels, and includes an engine and oil filter change. We will check your tyres for general wear and tear and also that they are at the correct pressure. In addition to this, a basic check of all major vehicle functions will be carried out and reported to the you – so you can be aware of any issues ahead of time.

.Full Service

A more comprehensive option as compared to your annual service is our full service which we recommend should be performed at least every 2 years. A full service with Carter Autos includes everything in an annual service, plus:

  • Changing of your engine oil and its filter
  • Checking of hydraulic and coolant levels
  • New air and fuel filters (if needed)
  • Changing of your spark plugs (in petrol cars)
  • A brake check (and change if deemed necessary)
  • A steering check
  • A battery check
  • An inspection of the vehicles suspension
  • Inspection of the exhaust
  • Inspection of the overall body of the car.

Not sure which service your car needs? No problem – give us a call and we can advise you! Just something to keep in mind – a full service history shows that your car has been well looked after and is reliable should you choose to sell your car in the future…
